This week at APT has been one of record-breaking results, personal milestones, and a few creative surprises along the way. From securing HMRC refunds to filming fresh video content, the team continues to go above and beyond to help clients across England and Wales with their estate planning needs.
Carrie had a record-breaking week for probates, the busiest since APT began showing that her experience and support are in demand which is both a positive and a negative. It’s great that we’re able to support more families get through the probate process but sad that clients are passing away.
Her experience and efficiency continue to set the standard for how probate should be handled: with precision, empathy, and proactive communication. Carrie also obtained a refund from HMRC for Inheritance Tax (IHT) already paid, a great result for her client, and worked closely with the District Valuer to get IHT valuations agreed with HMRC. It is the kind of behind-the-scenes work that saves clients both time and stress.
Megan’s week has been all about confidence, content, and connections. She started booking in her own family and friends for Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs), showing the growing trust people have in her expertise. Megan also filmed new social media videos explaining legal terms in a simple and relatable way, helping to make estate planning more accessible to everyone. On top of that, she has been busy networking and setting up new 1:1 meetings that could lead to exciting collaborations in the future.
Deb’s week combined professional insight with personal creativity. She delivered training for veterinary receptionists on how to answer calls in a way that builds trust from the first word, something she rightly points out is incredibly relevant to the legal world too. Deb also took her first steps in preparing for her upcoming charity stand-up gig (we are expecting some jokes about death and dementia), and finished the week with a major push to finalise outstanding client instructions. As Deb says, there is no point starting something if you do not finish it.
